Bryan Johnson doesn’t want to die.
The tech millionaire spends around $2 million — per year to fight aging. Over 100 supplements a day. A team of more than 30 specialists. Constant testing, scans, experiments. (As of 2026.)
And you can now buy parts of it: his “Blueprint” stack for about $333 to $449 a month.
In one way, I find that fascinating. In another, it makes me pause.
Because the most interesting voice in this debate isn’t Bryan Johnson. It’s his critic.
Peter Attia pushes back — and he would know
Peter Attia is a longevity doctor. Not a hipster, not a salesman. Someone who has spent years researching what actually keeps people healthy for longer.
And about biohackers like Bryan Johnson, he basically says: most of it is expensive money-burning.
His point is harsh but honest. If something only cost $7, he wouldn’t do it — because there is zero proof it works. (Loosely translated.)
Many people spend hundreds a month on supplements with no proven benefit. And distract themselves from what actually matters.
That’s exactly how I feel. Except here it’s said by someone who can back it up.
What actually matters in 2026 (and costs almost nothing)
Attia names the levers that truly make a difference. No secret hacks. The unspectacular stuff:
- Cardio. Good fitness (VO2 max) is one of the strongest markers for a long, healthy life.
- Strength & muscle. Trainable in the gym or at home. Protects you as you age.
- Sleep. Free. And irreplaceable.
- Everyday movement. Steps. Getting outside.
- Social connection. Underrated, free, huge.
- Sensible nutrition. Enough protein, real food. No powder magic.
That’s not accidentally my language. It’s exactly what I do myself.
Since January 2026 I’ve lost around 15 kg — not through a €333 subscription, but through strength training, natural food, and at least 10,000 steps a day. Despite shift work and family. My minimal plan for it.
The one cheap supplement I actually take
I don’t take 100 pills a day. I basically take one regularly: creatine.
Not as a miracle. But because it’s one of the best-researched supplements there is — cheap, safe, and during shift work I feel more drive. My honest creatine experience.

Creatine monohydrate (Creapure)
My only daily base supplement. Pure monohydrate, no blends. Please check price, ingredients and availability yourself.

I want to stay fair. Bryan Johnson isn’t the villain.
A lot of what he preaches is true: good sleep, plenty of movement, real food, start early. That’s solid.
And the funny part: even within his own system, 80 to 90 percent of the benefit comes from the cheap, simple habits. Not from the expensive experiments.
That’s basically the whole message.
My honest take
You don’t need a €333 subscription to age more healthily.
You need the unspectacular 80 percent. Consistently. Over years.
Movement. Strength. Sleep. Steps. Good food. People who are good for you. And maybe one or two cheap, well-researched basics.
The rest is often marketing. Sometimes expensive marketing.
If you want to go deeper without drowning in hype: my honest biohacking guide 2026.
My verdict
Bryan Johnson shows how far you can push longevity when money is no object.
Peter Attia shows what actually matters — and almost anyone can afford it.
I know which side I’m on. Not out of spite. But because I live it: the simple things work. You just have to do them.
